The worst thing about best practices

Michael W. McLaughlin has written an article about the issues with "best practices", from a marketing perspective (but relevant for all). He identifies four main problems:

  • They rarely work
  • It's a follower's strategy
  • Change comes from within
  • They don't come with a manual
